For this Legal Counsel - Commercial Transactions, Technology (d/f/m) role, we are looking for someone with commercial law experience in Germany or Switzerland and a commercially oriented mindset. Additional qualifications include:

Curiosity for technical innovation
Experience in working on IT contracts and advising on GDPR and IP-related issues
Ability to balance legal risks with commercial and operational needs
Full legal qualification in D or CH with the bar exam
Specialized expertise in regulated industries such as insurance or financial services is welcomed

Cognizant is looking for a creative and smart team player to join our Commercial Legal team in EMEA, with several years of post-qualification experience in an international law firm or an equivalent in-house position in a multinational corporation. This Legal Counsel role is based in Frankfurt or Munich and offers a favorable salary and benefits.

You will be an integral part of the continued rapid growth of Cognizant’s European operations. You will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of business transactions, from consultancy contracts to multi-million-dollar complex technology or business outsourcing deals. Primarily, these will be in the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) and other large markets in Continental Europe.

During your first few weeks in this Commercial Legal Counsel role, you can expect to:

Interact with clients in a broad range of industries and work on all phases of deals, from proactive shaping and proposal/bid review stages right through to final negotiation, escalation to senior Cognizant leadership, and working on post-signature matters
Get under the skin of the business and become part of the deal-making teams and experience the digitalization of an industry firsthand.
