The company has almost 13,000 staff in over 50 countries. We're looking for an Information Architect for our Researcher Services stream. The job is based in Berlin, and you'll be working with team members in Berlin, Dordrecht and London, so expect some travel. The Stream: Researcher Services Researcher Services aim to engage the community of researchers as a way to encourage them to choose Springer Nature as the publisher of choice for their research. This will be done both from an information and support perspective as well as through value-added products and services. Higher engagement will meant higher number of research submissions which in turn will increase revenue, as well as increasing brand reputation and equity. The team You'll be working closely with the Product Owner for Researcher Services (based in Dordrecht) and the springernature.com team (Berlin) as well as liaising with the Head of UXD in London to ensure alignment of approach. Within 3 months * Create whole-team understanding of the problem space * Identify user goals and key areas to explore and investigate * Working with your product owner, align user goals and key business goals to deliver maximum value to researchers * Align the team around a single vision about what Research Services could be in the future * Understand the marketplace and competitor landscape, and gather insights that will help drive product and service development * Share your insights with the wider product team to ensure that everyone is aligned * Build and maintain strong working relationships with your distributed team and stakeholders * Provide input into delivery of CMS templates to meet initial basic business needs 3-6 months * Travel to our German and Dutch offices to organise and run collaborative workshops * Provide evidence and rationale to generate and counter ideas about product direction and strategy * Map out a holistic Research Services experience * Embed Lean practices in product delivery, ensuring that a build-measure-learn philosophy is infused within the team Daily Delivery You'll be an essential part of the daily product development and delivery, taking active part in delivery within your first month. You'll be delivering iteratively, making sure that solutions are validated post-launch. User Research responsibilities You will be directly responsible for the research throughout the life cycle of the project. The research lead will support you in designing and establishing a research programme in order to validate the design decisions instead of design through assumptions. Experience required: * Project initiation and clarifying user needs and how they meet business goals at high level * Running collaborative and explorative workshops to define product vision * Identifying and leading the required user experience activities, including carrying out user research (not simply usability testing) and analysing findings * Collaborating with business and product owners to create a shared vision of the products/services to be delivered and shape the roadmap * Pushing back on feature-driven development in favour of a goal-based approach and educating/influencing team members and stakeholders to adopt this approach * Creating high-level information architectures that are scalable as well as work within the constraints of a CMS * Working in a lean/agileenvironment and producing required design artifacts in a lean UX way, to support the delivery of the backlog of work once identified Want to learn more about who we are and how we do business?
