What is this role?

We are currently looking for an experienced Business Development Director to join our elite team in the Government, Aerospace & Defence division. This position will focus on expanding the sales of our market-leading secure on premise and cloud based Neural Machine Translation, NLP, and Language Technology solutions. Focus markets, but not exclusive to, are Government Intelligence, Cyber Security and Government departments with multilingual translation requirements. You will also be responsible for capturing OEM and ISV relationships with companies that provide solutions into the above markets.

Responsibilities:

  • New business development; identify new opportunities for SDL Machine Translation and Language Translation technologies, in addition SDL Content Management solutions and Language Services will contribute to your revenue goals.
  • Identify business drivers to associate optimal services and solutions.
  • Work closely with marketing on lead generation activities.
  • Involve internal resources as appropriate and manage overall process.
  • Work and collaborate with existing/Partners and help develop new Partnerships to provide our customers with complete solutions.
  • Deliver revenue growth goals.
  • Follow up on pipelines for business expansion.
  • Foster strong client relationships.
  • Provide appropriate management updates, accurate forecasting and compliance in the use of corporate systems, and solicit feedback and direction when appropriate.

Requirements:

  • We are looking for applicants who fit the following profile:
  • Bachelor’s degree; MBA a plus.
  • 7+ years of experience in senior sales leader positions.
  • 5+ years of experience selling technology solutions to European Government agencies, Law Enforcement, Security, Counter Terrorism, Defense.
  • 3+ years of technical sales knowledge of Cyber Security, Open Source Intelligence (OSINT), Lawful Intercept Solutions.
  • Excellent networking skills and deep network of contacts within the sector.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions in order to present and sell SDL Solutions.
  • Demonstrate and articulate strategic rationale and logical flow when communicating both verbally and in written form.
  • Dynamic, enthusiastic and charismatic personality with polished presentation skills.
  • Skilled in the development of formal proposals, including market sector RFI, RFP responses.
  • Ability to travel as needed; up to 60%.
  • Ability to work remotely with appropriate home office environment.
