Job Description

Global Account Managers at Micron have total ownership and accountability for general business management and development activities specific to the Micron’s strategic customers. Global Account Managers generally manage one or more Global Account. Sales ownership is expected throughout the entire sales process (qualification to end-of-life). 

 Responsibilities and Tasks

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage one or more OEM Global Accounts based in Germany overseeing sales and design in activities at customer and partner locations worldwide
  • Foster deeper customer engagement
  • Create, develop and manage strategic relationship at customer side, from tactical to executive level
  • Develop and grow business leveraging value based selling approach
  • Establish strategic account planning, defining long-term objectives for key customer(s) with input and support of business unit and relevant stakeholder
  • Establish plan for reaching those objectives. Drive for plan execution leveraging Micron team members ownership and accountability
  • Communicate routinely and proactively with internal teams to ensure that Micron is on track to achieve defined objectives. Creates transparency/visibility to performance and holds team members accountable for their performance
  • Utilize effective presentation and command skills within customer and internal meetings
  • Proactively take responsibility for follow up on meeting actions and holds team accountable
  • Analyze business to identify areas of strong performance and those needing improvement
  • Establish actions to address areas for improvement and communicate to team and measure effectiveness
  • Take a firm stand to support Micron or to protect the objectives of the account, depending on the situation
  • Establish ongoing communication links with other field sales personnel and internal contacts to ensure that account objectives, action plans, issues, and follow up are clear to entire team
  • Manage internally the communication with Executives in professional and timely manner
  • Ensure articulated executive meeting preparation
  • Develop new business opportunities
  • May or may not manage direct reports



  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electronics or related, required
  • BSA, MBA highly desirable
  • Marketing/ Business Administration/Management

  Desired Skills & Experience

  • Automotive segment knowledge and experience required
  • Proven track record in Semiconductor Sales Account management, preferably for memories or digital processing
  • Experience in managing global accounts
  • Solid leadership experience
  • Value based selling skills and competences
  • Customer focused mindset with strong communication and interpersonal skills  
  • Energetic team player with ethos of high performance and ability to manage virtual teams
  • Flexible with ability to adapt to change in a highly dynamic work environment
  • Ability to manage own time and multi-task combined with strong organizational skills
  • Self-motivated, driven, smart, and willing to learn with a desire to succeed
  • Fluency in English and in German
  • Availability to frequent travelling to customer visits, events, training
  • Ability to represent the company in a highly professional manner both over the phone and face-to-face
