You will be part of an international multidisciplinary team investigating the biochemistry and molecular biology of cocoa (Theobroma cacao) using modern bioanalytical methods. Your individual project will be the molecular analysis of bioactive molecules, including peptides, using an array of state-of-art techniques including proteomics and metabolomics. In addition, you will test those bioactive molecules for suitable applications at industrial scale. For this, advanced skills in molecular biology, biochemistry, host-pathogen interactions, or mycology will be desired. The position is funded and carried out in collaboration with Barry Callebaut, the leading manufacturer of industrial cocoa and chocolate.

Your qualifications: You will have completed your doctoral training and will have obtained a title of PhD or Dr. rer. nat. in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology or Plant Pathology. Further scientific work experience is desirable but not essential. Good knowledge of English and computer-based data management are required. Experiences in bioanalytical or chemical methods and microbiological work are desirable but not essential.
