A MapR Technical Account Manager is ensuring dedicated support to key Enterprise customers.  We’re looking for a track record of proven knowledge in database, business intelligence, applications, storage, Data Warehouse, Professional Services organizations, or Cloud providers who are focused on Big Data solutions.

How you’ll make your mark:

  • By serving as a dedicated offsite technical lead to provide support for stage, QA, development and production issues related to mapR products. Offsite TAM location will be closest to the customer site preferably in the same time zone.
  • You will provide global holistic support by having a complete view of projects by region, by stage and characteristics
  • You will effectively address ad-hoc customer questions and interacting with different groups as needed and identifying solutions.
  • By promptly resolving production support issues either directly or working with other mapR engineers
  • By partnering with customer teams and system integrators to ensure successful MapR deployments
  • By helping the customer deploy use cases into MapR solutions from early stage design to production
  • You will collaborate with MapR sales team to expand customer relationships & drive success
  • By staying current on MapR capabilities, competitive landscape & AI/ML/Data Science trends.
  • You will demonstrate new MapR features and capabilities to stakeholders
  • You will provide feedback and recommendations with the integration of ecosystem tools (open source and third party commercial tools: Informatica, Talend, Dataiku, etc)
  • You will evolve and facilitate use case discussions into high level solution architecture
  • Be the champion within the customer organization for mapR solutions and Hadoop components
  • Providing Recommendations for optimum cluster performance
  • Providing Monthly status reviews with named account leadership
  • Providing Weekly detailed status reports of all activities worked on by TAM resource to the named contact.
  • The weekly report will include the following:
    • Summary of activities completed for the week
    • List of current issues and status
    • Number of hours worked
    • Participate in daily and weekly team meetings or as desired

About You:

Education and Experience Required:

  • You have an advanced University degree: post-graduate degree (i.e., Master of Arts/Science, MBA, etc.). Typically 1-2 year completion beyond first level University degree. or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in relevant technologies and customer environments.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • You have advanced troubleshooting skills in a technical environment.
  • You have excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • You have advanced Software and hardware knowledge of computing, storage and peripheral devices.
  • You are skilled in Hadoop and specific components like YARN, Spark, hive, and other query engines. A good understanding of distributed systems is essential for the job.
  • You have good knowledge on C++, JAVA and python computer language
  • You have advanced proficiency with case management databases and tools.
  • You have superior customer service skills.
  • Ability to solve and document solutions for usage of other technicians and customers.
  • Ability to train peers and new agents on job related material.
  • Ability to take full ownership for resolution with escalated customers.
  • Ability to initiate and lead technical action plans.
  • Lead or provide expertise to cross-functional teams or projects.
  • Exceptional depth of knowledge on one or more highly complex solutions.
  • You are fluent in the German and English language
