The Director, Sales DACH, will lead the Sales team with responsibility for driving revenue through prospecting, marketing and selling our suite of SaaS ecommerce solutions to brands and online retailers for the DACH and Eastern Europe region, including Germany, Austria and Switzerland. ChannelAdvisor provides a suite of SaaS solutions to businesses which enables them to effectively manage their sales activities across sites like Amazon, eBay, Zalando, La Redoute as well as search and shopping engines like Google, Kelkoo, PriceGrabber and Shopzilla. The Director, Sales DACH will provide ongoing guidance, support and team leadership to ensure that bookings and revenue targets are met in a very metrics/KPI driven environment. From time to time, the Director, Sales DACH may also represent ChannelAdvisor publicly at partner and industry events in the region, and by working with marketing to deliver local thought leadership pieces.


This position will be responsible for:

Berlin Office & Regional Leadership:

  • Being the senior leader in the Berlin office, demonstrating daily leadership, supporting and displaying company values and the ChannelAdvisor EMEA strategy
  • Promote strategy and motivate the Berlin office to perform at the highest level of results and professionalism
  • Represent ChannelAdvisor publicly at customer, prospect, partner and industry events in the region
  • Interact with other managers and departments as necessary to maximise the Berlin office performance
  • Monitor competitor activity

DACH & Eastern Europe Regional Sales Leadership:

  • Forecast sales against monthly targets and adjust sales efforts to ensure achievement of monthly, quarterly and annual goals set by the VP, Global Sales and Business Development
  • Ensure the sales team is selling to the right companies and selling the right solutions, to increase our customer success rate and retention
  • Continuously review work of sales executives to determine areas of improvement and identify new best practices
  • Recruit and retain the best sales talent to achieve regional targets
  • Provide ongoing training and development to Sales Executives including training for new hires
  • In conjunction with senior sales leadership, develop and implement key performance indicators and measures of success for individual Sales Executives as well as the team as a whole
  • Responsible for assessing new market opportunities, recommend expansion plans, and executing new market plans
  • Work with marketing to deliver local thought leadership pieces, when appropriate
  • Serve as a point of escalation for any sales or account management issues that require management attention
  • Develop broad product and ecommerce knowledge in order to serve as a resource to individual team members throughout the sales process to ensure sales executives are effectively articulating all that ChannelAdvisor has to offer to the benefit of our clients – this is a solution based sale


  • 5 -7 years’ experience with management / sales experience
  • University / College degree or equivalent preferred
  • Proven track record of sales success in a complex software or technology environment (preferably SaaS)
  • Ability to communicate and convey the value proposition of a complex software platform via phone and online demos as well as in-person meetings
  • Success in a past leadership role required to include ongoing development of individual team members through hiring, training, mentoring and overall performance management
  • Creative thinker with an eye toward keeping a large team of sales executives motivated and passionate about their work
  • Demonstrated history of consistent goal achievement in a competitive environment
  • Highly effective organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Proven ability to work effectively with various departments and teams
  • Energetic, professional tenacious team player with excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Outstanding relationship building skills with a high degree of responsiveness and integrity
  • Strong business, strategic, financial, and analytical acumen
  • Must be willing to travel
  • Fluency in English and German required
